How This Former Ironman Wants to Inspire Everyone to Fall in Love With Running

What inspired you to start running?

My brother challenged me to a 10km race, and I took that very seriously for some reason.

We weren’t ready to race over that sort of distance. The last few kilometers were torture. 

But we did it.

After the race, we were sitting in a restaurant eating junk food, and I felt proud of myself and realized it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I understood why people love running!

Since that first run, I felt this unbelievable drive and motivation to keep going and push my body further.

I realized that if I could run this 10k, I could do anything I set my mind to. 

With new goals and endless motivation, I started running every week. I set myself longer distances and faster times and just kept going.

The thought of running a marathon kept creeping into my mind, and it started to seem entirely plausible.

I would buy tickets for events like always and make sure I did the hard work in training to feel fully prepared for the race. 

I finished my first marathon, carried through by sheer adrenaline. I felt physically drained, but my mind felt clearer than ever.

A streak of marathons followed after – Denmark, Norway, Lithuania, China, and Ironman.

How did this lead to helping others?

I became a running preacher. My friends started joining me on runs; I’d instruct them on basic running rules, help set goals, and create training plans. Not long after, they began applying my methods to complete their marathons and beat personal bests.

I wanted to spread the message far and wise, not just with my family and friends. I wanted to help others achieve their running goals.

So with a team of like-minded experts, we created Joggo.
