How People Over 40 Are Losing Weight With Running, Even if They Had Failed Before

He got hit on again in front of me during a party we were attending.

That skinny chick giggled as she touched my husband. Suddenly… all I could see was RED.

And we were wearing very obvious couple costumes – I was just so sick of it.

My husband navigated the situations well time and time again, always putting me first and making sure I was comfortable and okay.

But this wasn’t about him; it was about me.

Hi, I’m Sara.

Obesity has played a major role in my life’s journey.

My Obese Life…

At this moment, a few years ago, I was roughly 380 pounds.

I couldn’t walk more than half a mile without needing a break.

I wasn’t confident in myself, and having a hot husband also didn’t help with my insecurities.

My weight spiraled out of control once I got into college and started working full time.

Having a car and money and being addicted to food is not a great combo.

My weight severely hampered my social life.

I hated going to public places, never been to a roller coaster, never swam at a beach, the list goes on and on.

Most of my days would consist of: waking up, eating, going out to work, eating at work, eating some more, binge-watching TV, and then eating again.

And by the time I graduated from college, I was BIG!

Years went by, but my weight and health were still in an awful place.

I was lucky to find the love of my life – a loving and super handsome husband – during one of my difficult times. But my self-esteem issues didn’t stop rising. Quite the opposite – things got much worse.

The stress of a newly married life, buying a new house, had forced me to put on more weight.

After the birth of our first child, I was dealing with uncontrolled insulin levels. The more insulin I took, the more weight I gained, and I became more tired.

I’ll never forget when my sister visited me on my 37th birthday. She was surprised to see how bloated I was. I guessed she figured I was having problems.

Worried, she kept asking me what was wrong and if I was happy. I told her I was.

And when she tried to probe further, I became defensive.

BUT, her visit made me realize that I was eating to cover up the pain of a stressful marriage for so many years. I was obese and thought I would never be anything else.

A Point of No Return…

I had denied my sister the chance to help me because I didn’t want to be anyone’s liability.

I had to figure things out for myself.

Our kids got a bit older, so my husband and I started going out again. Oh, I’ve waited so long for that!

If only I knew back then that those dates would make me feel worse than ever…

Every time we went out, no matter where: to the restaurant, bar, or theater, my husband would always get hit on by some beautiful and lean girls.

He’s a great guy and never let them go too far, constantly introducing me as his wonderful and beloved wife.

But the way those girls always looked at me after that… I wanted to bury my head in the sand and disappear.

I knew I needed to find a permanent solution to beat my obesity.

I wanted to feel good about my body, love myself, and feel worthy of love.

Heck, I wanted to feel worthy of my hot husband.

And just for once, I wanted to be hit on. Not my husband.

I couldn’t afford a personal fitness trainer because of my finances.

All I wanted was to have an affordable plan to fit my lifestyle.

I didn’t know what to do, but I knew there must be a solution somewhere.

I read a lot of books on dieting and watched tons of videos.

I tried following them, but they seemed too stressful for me as they’d result in me binging all of my favorite foods and feeling horrible about myself.

After months of struggle, I lost most of my hope to lose weight and was about to give up…

A Moment of Truth

On another date night with my husband, I met an old friend at the bar who called out my name.

I was surprised to see how different she was looking. And I guess she was surprised to see how I was looking too.

We talked about old times. Our old friends and families.

I made a playful comment about her good looks, and then she told me about her weight struggles and how she overcame them by using an app.

The more she talked about her struggles, the more I could relate. I had given up and accepted my fate, but she didn’t. “What about this app?” I managed to ask.

Then she began to tell me about this Joggo app. She talked about the app being customizable, how it creates meals and running plans just for you, gives feedback, and all that stuff.

I admired the new confidence exuded by my friend and how sexy she looked. But deep down, it all sounded like the same old story I had heard a thousand times before, and I wasn’t sold.

When I started losing weight, I never imagined ever attempting to run.

It was never something I had ever enjoyed doing. Quite honestly, it had been something that I hated with every drop of my being.

But the more I thought about my friend, the more willing I became to try running. So I went for my first run.

OH MY GOD NO, I wasn’t ready.

My knees hurt. My heart thought it was going to explode. My lungs couldn’t keep up. That hurt.

And I had only gone 200 meters…

Another couple of months passed, and I tried again. But this time, I decided to try my friend’s recommended app Joggo.

After that failed attempt to run, I knew I needed some guidance and a plan tailored to my condition and fitness levels.

Signing up for Joggo was very simple. First, I had to fill out a quick quiz about my current fitness level, height, weight, lifestyle, and goals.

I also decided to go for the custom meal plan to keep myself accountable and take out the guessing game from figuring out what I can and cannot eat.

While I explored it, I was amazed that the app came with many features designed to help me lose weight and regain my confidence.

Lost Weight. Confidence Gained…

That first run changed my entire day.

Before long, I enjoyed that feeling of accomplishment of doing something I never thought I was capable of doing.

Before Joggo

After the first two weeks of my exercise routine with the app, I logged on and filled the feedback form.

It was so easy for me to upscale my exercises with a more difficult task.

That continued for about 3 months…

And then I saw the weight starting to fall off. My husband, kids, and friends began noticing and making compliments.

I felt powerful!

That motivated me to do more, and the more I did, the more I got my mojo back.

I began running outdoors (with so many eyes on me!), and I couldn’t believe the results I was seeing.

Not all features were necessary for me, though. I loved running outside, so the treadmill mode wasn’t vital for me. But if you’re one of those people who prefer using a treadmill, you’re not going to be left behind. Joggo has a specific mode just for you.

Trying Joggo App

At 43, I ran the first full mile of my life, and that day changed my life.

That feeling was something I had felt so rarely in my life. I realized I could do just about anything if I set a goal and followed my path forward until I reached it.

Three years later, my life is so incredibly different compared to what it was.

I’ve maintained my weight loss for 2 years. I run nearly every day and am faster than I’ve ever imagined.

And I feel sexy, confident, and beautiful. Worthy of my husband and, most importantly, myself.

I love going out on dates with my husband, and I no longer feel left behind.

One run changed my day… 100 runs have changed my life forever.
