I’ve always been insecure about my arms. It’s why I’ve been avoiding sleeveless tops for a looong time. Frankly, I was convinced my arms were a hopeless case – up until I lucked out on a solution.
It’s got nothing to do with strenuous dumbbell workouts. In fact, it’s something so simple and so easy to try – one tiny switch to my eating patterns – that I’d never believe it would actually work.
And yet my arms now look more toned than they’ve looked in years.
If you’re like me, and you’ve been feeling a little down about a certain body part, I hope my story will help you see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Here’s how it all started…
In truth, it was I who got bigger – in a variety of places, but especially my arms.
So I decided to try intermittent fasting again, a special eating strategy I had tried back in 2017 with great results.
Back then, it all seemed so simple. I was younger, so all I did was skip breakfast. Over time, I lost over 10 pounds without following a specific meal plan.
However, this time was different. What worked for me 5 years ago no longer did. I did, of course, feel lighter after a few weeks, but the whole process wasn’t nearly as effortless as it used to be.
I used to feel less hungry while fasting. But this time… I felt ravenous.
While on a lunch break at work, my friend and colleague Anya saw me looking for meal plan subscriptions online.
She suggested I take a look at intermittent fasting instead, as it’s way less restrictive than a diet. I told her about my experience. Fasting worked well for me in the past, but not anymore.
She encouraged me to try again, but this time with a customized intermittent fasting plan that I could easily follow.
She explained that the #1 most common reason people don’t see results is that the fasting plan is not suitable for their lifestyle.
That made a lot of sense, as my lifestyle was way different than in 2017. Perhaps my fasting plan also needed a change?
Anya directed me to DoFasting, a well-known wellness brand that develops custom intermittent fasting plans and an app she’d used herself before.
Looking at her long-legged, slim Ukrainian figure, I never imagined she ever had issues with her weight. But she assured me that the guided fasting program and tips on the app were largely responsible for how she currently looks.
The first thing I noticed was that in order to evaluate my health and physical state I needed to take a quiz. It’s pretty personalized and asks some questions about your lifestyle and eating patterns.
In the end, it gives you helpful information about yourself, such as your BMI and how much water and activity you need each day.
I was quite impressed with the quiz, so I got the app right away (the quiz is free and they offer a 7-day trial for their full program, I had nothing to lose!).
Here’s what it included: 8 Fasting plans (for health, weight loss & for beginners), water/time/calorie trackers, personalized recommendations, an endless library of recipes perfectly aligned with fasting, no-equipment workouts, a library of articles answering every weight loss, fasting and fitness relating question.
I was amazed!
I was expecting to pay hundreds of dollars for this. After all, that would be pretty standard for getting personalized support from a nutritionist and personal trainer.
If you’d like to find out more about the program, go ahead – the quiz is absolutely free!
This program helped me understand why I failed on my own. See, I was following a fasting schedule that wasn’t suitable for my work schedule. So I was depriving myself of fuel when I needed it the most, making my brain feel sluggish and throwing my hunger pangs out of control.
With the way this healthy fasting program was designed, however, this wasn’t an issue at all. My body was fueled properly when my lifestyle required it and burned fat during my downtime hours.
A big part of that was that the meals they recommended were not just healthy but also easy to prepare, with ingredients readily available in a grocery store.
So I was giving my body the nutrients it needed to feel full and energized during my productive hours in a way that was easy to follow.
My arms were visibly more toned after the first 28 days, especially my underarms and the triceps area, which used to be quite jiggly. But it took me around 4 months to truly say “wow.”
The workouts in the app were key in this. They taught me how to do planks, tricep push-outs, and (yes!) 45-degree push-ups.
But I must admit. Getting dressed is, surprisingly, more challenging than it used to be.
In the past, it was as simple as avoiding sleeveless tops.
Now I need to wear fancy belts and pins because my wardrobe feels a LOT looser. This might sound like a good problem to have, but trust me, it takes a lot of creativity if you have to do this every day.
But so far, I haven’t gained back a single pound. In fact, I continue to lose weight steadily, as I have so many fasting plans to try out! Meals and workouts are constantly updated, so I can keep on going without plateaus.
Overall, my experience has been very positive. The program challenged me to be a lot more intentional about how and when I eat.
Besides, I experienced other benefits of fasting:
✅ Increased metabolism and energy,
✅ Little to no food cravings,
✅ Better mood, and…
✅ Reduced fat around my problem areas (I used to hate my underarms and now look at them!)

Your story inspired me!! my arms were always a problem area for me and I just couldn’t find a way to shape them up. filling the quiz right now
It’s been some time since I started working out but I didn’t take my diet seriously, and it definitely shows.. I think it’s time for me to try something new, I’ve heard of fasting before but didn’t know that it is possible to achieve these results. Hope it works for me too, and I’m always up for a challenge
I’ve also tried fasting before and I’d always get lost and eat unhealthy food between my fasts. this plan sounds like a good way to try again
