    Well I have been on the 16-8 hour fasting for over 2 months and haven’t lost anything. What am I doing wrong? Or is fasting not for me?

    I started IF in mid September 2017, by the end of September I had to buy new pants because my 36 inch waist dropped too my grade twelve waist of 29 inches. I still IF to this day and I increase it to three days of water only fasting for the greatest health benefits of stem cells to regrow any damaged or non functioning organs starting in the digestive tract but inclues BDNF for my half damaged brain!

    Worked for me. Tried lots of diets and exercise but weight kept creeping on (belly fat !). Surprised that such a simple switch in meal times could achieve results. My tips are drinking a litre of water after my early dinner to stop night cravings and switching to black coffee in the morning to get me through to a late breakfast. Otherwise I have a reasonably healthy diet, but without counting macros or watching every mouthful (which I hate). I have been doing 16/8 for about 3 months now and have lost about 3 kgs. Yes slow but steady and sustainable. Won’t go back!

    I was terribly obese. My husband passed away twelve years ago with a heart attack. I had always been over weight but after he passed I was packing more weight on. One day I realized I was eating potato chips and pure junk. I was at the point that I could no longer walk in Walmart. My hair would be wet in the back. My young granddaughter asked me one day why was my hair wet when it wasn’t even summer time. I was beyond ashamed that she noticed what I knew was going to kill me if I didn’t do something. That day I decided to do something about my weight. I went and sit in a meeting about weight loss surgery. They were very truthful and I decided that wasn’t for me. I didn’t eat meat so how will I lose weight when all I wanted to eat was junk. I started doing some research and over a period of time a bell rung in my head. I finally understood how I could lose weight but I had to get rid of the lifestyle I chose for myself. I made up my mind I was doing this for my family and for me. I started fasting. The weight started melting away. No more junk! I started eating probably the right things for the first time in my life. After I lost twenty pounds I was so excited. It was working! Long story short I lost 140 pounds and I’m going to lose twenty more. Then I will maintain what I have lost. You will never do it until you get to the point that you realize this is a matter of life and death. I chose life. I can’t say enough about fasting. I don’t even think of it as a fast any longer. This is my life now. Believe me this works if you’re serious and willing to change what you put in your body.

    Yes, even though I am not a typical heavy weight person of getting up lots of surplus kilograms, but having a bit more baby-soft fat around my waste and a bigger belly IF was a convenient way of getting rid of them. Leaving out the breakfasts is working very well for me without any problems and the results are worth of doing this habitually.

    I tried using intermittent fasting using ozempic to curb the hunger pangs and it worked fine for 10 weeks I lost 8 kilos. The ozempic was so expensive however 😫 I didn’t increase the dose using willpower to keep the 18/6 window and often 20/4 but when I ate the meals started getting larger. To my surprise I started putting on weight again 1.2 kilos in the last 11 days has anyone else had an experience like this?

    It worked for me for about a year and then – with no changes it stopped working. I gave up and now weigh more than when I started – frustrating.

    I work out at the gym 5 days a week for 1-2 hours. Does this cause my body to start eating it’s muscle or will it only consume the fat?

    At age 71 only 10lbs overweight I try to do protein and vegetables and 17hr fasting. But I drink coffee with creamer in the morning does that mess up my fasting?

    I am 73 never been fat but in the last 1 -2 year something happens I have gain about 10 -15 pounds
    I have done iF 14 hours and see no change seems if I go over 800 calories in a day I don’t loose anything and 800 is hard to maintain
    What is different with yours ? Or is it another magic gimmick how want to sell ?

    Intermittent fasting is working very well for me and my husband. Our eating window is from 11am – 6pm. In addition, we’ve cut out all processed sugar (natural fruit in moderation) and gluten. The results? In three months, he lost 46 lbs and I’ve lost 25 lbs. We feel great, have good energy, and don’t crave the sweets. This is not a duet – it’s a lifestyle change, and we’re not going back!

    I have been (unknowingly) intermittently fasting for the last 15-20 yrs. I just don’t get a ‘hunger signal’ until around 16 hrs of not eating. We eat dinner between 5-6pm, never wake up hungry, & don’t have a desire to eat anything until approximately 1-2pm. Then it’s just a light snack. I’m holding my weight at 130 lbs. (5’4’’). Far better weight than the 187lbs I was years ago! Fasting works!!

    Yep, have been using this technique since 2021 after gaining more weight during Covid. Its enabled me to loose all that extra weight and more over 2 years, plus its a great maintenance overall.

    As a young man I was too busy for breakfast and never had any weight issues. Later I took up breakfast after reading about it being the most important meal of the day. My weight rose.
    So back to basics and this seems to be working.

    I am doing IF since July and it works. I am working night which is my window eating is during my working time (aka awake time) I tried 18 hours for a month and now 20 hours. I change my window eating whenever I am off work. I was 71kgs for 5’5 heigh which over my BMI, now I am 65kgs and I can see the change of the size of my clothes too, I am determined to keep doing this IF for my healthy lifestyles and hopefully I will get to see my desire weight along the way and keep it that way.

    I’ve been on 16/8 pattern since last summer, and have lost 5.5 kg (not pound) without any pain. It keeps me stay clear minded and light body during the 16 hours with no foods at all. The only thing you need to watch a bit is try to stay low carb, but not a must. My blood sugar dropped from 7.5 to 6.1 and 6.6 to 5.9, normal for my age of 60.

    I use skim milk in my tea. Don’t drink coffee at all. Eat from about 2 pm onwards till about 7.30. Have lost 20 pounds since March 23. May not be real fasting with the milk but it’s working

    My problem is in the morning I have tea with soya milk and haven’t found a substitute that I enjoy. Don’t like black coffee without sweetener and herbal tea in the morning just doesn’t cut it. So doomed to fail. The eating part I don’t have a problem with as usually do not eat till 12:30 and stop at 6:30. 🤦🏻‍♀️

      There is not a universal schedule. If this is a huge issue for you, why not choose an eating window which begins in the morning with your coffee and milk? Treat breakfast as your primary meal, and fast until you wake up the following day…

    I agree too that it’s been 8 months and I can’t eat any breakfast never hungry in the morning can easily do 16 hour fasts also I do see a major change in inches all over my body with weight loss so 20 lbs difference so far. Actual results it works.

    I was a bit skeptical at first given how many times I failed to lose weight using new diets… but having tried intermittent fasting for over three months, I must say this is legit! It took me about a week to get used to the diet. But after that, I noticed visible weight losses which I haven’t regained since. I went from 174 lbs to 153 lbs, and I continue to see my body getting slimmer over time, without feeling hungrier than usual. I don’t see myself returning to a normal diet now.
