At first, I didn’t want to tell my story because it felt too private, too sensitive.
You see, I always thought that was how everyone’s brain worked.
That’s until I was 35, when I got diagnosed with ADHD.
It made me wonder how different my life would have been if I hadn’t lacked motivation all those years.
If I had become good at things that I just couldn’t do.
If I hadn’t felt depressed when I had no reason to.
Yet, while getting prescribed ADHD medications turned my life upside down, I still felt like something was missing.
I decided to share my story because that something helped me and could likely help others with ADHD feel 100% themselves.
So, let me explain how I discovered what was missing.
Now that I better understand this condition, it was actually always evident that I had it.
Especially when looking back at my childhood.
As far as I remember, I would always get insanely obsessed with something.
And then, after a few days or weeks, that interest would simply vanish.
In school, I would mirror other girls’ personalities and behavior.
It was like my cheat code to act as I was supposed to.
And when it came to learning, I always did things in a much more complicated way.
I would have to reread the same sentences over and over again…
Or ponder the response to any question as it felt like I had a delay in processing what I was asked.
And as I got older, everything continued to get worse.
I had to change many jobs because I had trouble staying focused.
Not because something was distracting me.
I just never wanted to do whatever I was doing.
But when more and more often, I would drift away as my husband and kids were talking to me…
When they became “background noise,” while I was thinking about all and nothing…
When I felt that I was far from their expectations of me as a wife and mother…
I realized that whatever it was, I had to do something about it.
Going from one expert to another, I eventually got diagnosed with ADHD.
I felt frustrated when the doctor explained my diagnosis and how it affected my life.
Because it seemed like I had spent 35 years of my life not living it to the fullest.
And when the very first pill kicked in, I understood how big the difference was.
It was as if the world around me had finally become quiet and still.
For the first time in my life, I could think about one thing at a time.
I could start and actually finish any task I got my hands on.
However, pretty soon, I noticed that once my medication wore off, things worsened again.
Some days, I even felt not much different than before taking the pills.
My doctor then prescribed different medications and doses to find what worked for me.
And while my body responded better to some pills…
When the doctor upped my dose, I ended up staying awake till 3–4 in the morning.
Unable to sleep, I was reading about how others dealt with ADHD.
And the more I read, the more I saw messages like “pills don’t teach skills,” “behavioral treatment is the most useful,” and things like that.
Which was something I hadn’t heard before.
Everyone who had the most success in managing their ADHD seemed to swear by cognitive behavioral techniques.
When I googled what cognitive behavioral therapy was, I stumbled upon Harvard studies proving its effectiveness in dealing with ADHD.2, 3
And I also discovered that one therapy session can cost 100 dollars and more.
Which was way out of my budget.
But none of these guys in the ADHD community were paying that much for CBT.
Because for just a fraction of that cost, most of them were using Greatness, which is like…
Now, I mentioned that identifying the ADHD type is important for two reasons.
First, I found that knowing my type plays a crucial role in managing ADHD.
Second, that’s how my Greatness journey began.
I took a free Greatness quiz and discovered that I have ADHD combined, which is exactly what my ADHD feels like.
Not only that, but I got a forecast of how long it could take to better my symptoms using proper CBT techniques tailored to my ADHD type.
And ever since I purchased my ADHD management plan, I feel like I have a cognitive behavioral therapist by my side 24/7.
The only difference is that it doesn’t cost me 100 bucks per therapy session.
Instead, I pay less than 10 dollars a month and can cancel my plan anytime I want.
But I guess I never will because…
Every day I get cognitive behavioral techniques tailored to me and delivered directly to my phone.
These techniques teach me new ways of thinking, which help me have a sharp focus, be more organized, and control my mind.
Just like a costly therapist, this app educates me on the benefits of these techniques and gives clear guidance on how I can apply them in my everyday life.
And these are just a fraction of Greatness features.
Because it also has a convenient planner, reminders, weekly self-assessment tests, and even quick-relief techniques.
And just for the record, I’m not saying that this Greatness app has replaced my medication.
It’s more like Greatness picks up my ADHD management where medication left off.
And for anyone who doesn’t feel 100% themselves despite taking pills, this could be exactly what you are missing.

So, I am just letting everyone know that I took that free quiz, and it accurately described my ADHD! Today is my first day with Greatness. Will see how it works.
I always knew that there is more to ADHD management than the meds only. But I never had money or tools to train my cognitive behavior. But now I have, thanks to Greatness!
I’ve been taking Adderall for years but never fully felt like myself. I heard about CBT before, but it was out of my reach because of the price. So it’s actually good to know that I can get similar treatment for less than $10 a month!
