The secrets of my Summer Body

What a joy it is to experience the summer season. Where I live, the ‘sun is shining’, my spirits are high and I take advantage of every moment to recharge my batteries and fill up on vitamin D.

Today, I would like to share with you the secrets of my summer body because as you know, the refrain comes up every year and we discover all sorts of more or less extravagant methods to get the summer body of our dreams.

I feel a lot of gratitude on a daily basis for having the chance to lead a rewarding life with different culinary flavors and activities. I feel like a new woman in my head and in my body and I enjoy the challenges that life throws at me because that is what keeps me moving forward and aiming higher.

Speaking of my head and body, I know one who had been sending me signals for some time. He was letting me know that he too had changed and that I should adapt to his evolution. I am of course referring to my body.

After many attempts to lose the extra pounds, I managed to lose some weight, but it wasn’t enough. As a result, I was always frustrated and fell back into my ways and welcomed my extra pounds with open arms, but in spite of myself.

I gave up wearing swimming costumes for a while. I had resigned myself to it.

I must admit that I didn’t like myself, I felt permanently complexed. It was hell!

It’s important to feel good about yourself, to feel toned, to have the energy to spare. And that’s exactly what I want. So, I motivated myself.

With the summer season back again, making way for swimming costumes, bikinis, and tanning, it’s time for me to share with you the secrets of my routine in order to get your dream summer body, but also my journey and my doubts.

Why do complexes rhyme with summer?

It’s silly I know, but when summer season approaches, we tend to discover ourselves. Literally and figuratively.

We tell ourselves, that it’s time to change our eating habits, our lifestyle, to use new products.

It may seem logical for some, and silly for others, but if you are reading these lines right now, it’s probably because a little voice inside you is saying, ‘Hey, do you recognize yourself?’

So don’t panic because, in reality, we all feel the same way.

The Summer Body: In search of the perfect body?

It may sound surprising but the gap between men and women is not obvious. Because yes, these gentlemen also pay attention to the chocolate bars they want to wear on the beach.

For women, it is more subtle. First of all, there is the image of the perfect woman, developed by the patriarchy. Which has long been synonymous with social pressure and aesthetics. Fortunately, women have been able to assert themselves and this ideology is becoming somewhat outdated. However, it is part of the heavy heritage that women have been subjected to and for some, it is unfortunately still too present…

Then, there is the role of social networks. If at first, we can observe many accounts, that convey motivation, this does not stop the obsession that some have for the perfect body.

The ideal body is, therefore, described and presented as slim, with beautiful shapes, in the right places. Muscular without appearing to be exaggerated, with a slightly tanned skin tone, smooth skin, and no scars.

Do you see what I mean? At first, you enjoy taking care of yourself, and then it becomes a real pressure, more nuanced, more discreet that continues to make its way into your head.

How will I lose this cellulite? I have the impression that it is anchored in me? I don’t understand why people are looking at me in my new swimming costume? Do they see my flaws?

Worse, what do they see? What do they think? Quick, give me a mirror so I can check if everything is ok with me. It’s a vicious circle that never stops.

It’s time to stop idealizing the perfect body and instead focus on your well-being. That means a healthy physique and a healthy mind. As the saying goes, ‘A healthy mind in a healthy body.’

Aren’t you tired of feeling guilty about your shape, your flaws? How long will you accept to hurt yourself?

How did I get my Summer Body?

I don’t want to fit into a mold but rather assume who I am, live in harmony, and to be free of all this unnecessary pressure.

We only have one body so let’s make sure we like it, no matter what shape it is.

1 – Set reasonable goals

Not everyone has the same starting point and it’s important to be realistic with your goals. Take it step by step. Always with the satisfaction of having made further progress.

If you want to achieve visible results, I advise you to maintain yourself throughout the year and not wait until a few weeks before the summer.

Of course, this also requires that you don’t overindulge in good things during the year, such as sweets for example.

2 – Change your diet

With today’s eating habits, it is not always easy to start eating fruits and vegetables. However, they are part of our development and our well-being. And with the arrival of the fine weather before the summer, it is always pleasant to go to the markets and indulge in pretty strawberries or plump tomatoes.

Fruits and vegetables will help you drain your body, detoxify it and burn fat. For example, watermelon and melon are full of water and can help you lose weight without feeling deprived.

I also suggest you look at whole grains and white meat.

3 – Do some cardio

You may not be thrilled, but you have to earn a summer body. And that starts with burning fat by doing a physical activity that gets your cardio going.

Running for example, yes, I know I just said that word, or cycling indoors or outdoors are excellent ways to burn calories.

4 – Drink plenty of water

Remember to drink enough water to keep yourself hydrated. This is an essential part of the summer body.

It allows you to flush out your toxins naturally and get a glowing skin tone. I drink at least 1.5 liters of water a day.

5 – Avoid eating certain foods

I’m referring to processed foods because they are loaded with fat, preservatives, sugar and salt.

We are what we eat, so if you don’t pay attention to what’s on your plate, you’re letting yourself go.

However, it is entirely possible to eat what you like without feeling deprived.
