“My doctor told me I couldn’t run anymore… So here’s how I defeated my belly fat instead.”

I was gasping for air… My legs burning… Wiping the sweat off my face at the end of my 3.7-mile run.

“You can do it. Just a few more minutes and it will be over.”, I told myself.

I’ve been running like that for 6 months, 6 days a week.

This is what it takes to lose my stubborn belly fat, I thought.

How was I supposed to know any better?

I saw fit girls in cute leggings jogging on the street every day. It seemed effortless.

To me, it was anything but.

I would be running broken in sweat (and anger) thinking I was stuck in this fat body.

Obesity runs in my family and I thought that’s just the way I am (and will be.)

Sometimes I wished I could just go to a surgeon and peel that ugly fat off

It was a fight. Me vs fat. But I was running out of breath.

Then it happened.

In my final mile on the treadmill, I got tired and careless.

I slipped and slammed my knee into the running belt. In sharp pain, tears in my eyes I was rushed to the ER.

An hour later doctor broke the news:

“No running for at least a few weeks. Maybe months.”

Months?! I went home with a knot in my stomach.

How else am I going to get rid of the fat?

What if I regain all the weight that I lost?

What if I gain even MORE weight?

Thoughts like these were haunting me till dawn as I was lying awake, staring at the ceiling.

The next day I scoured the internet for answers.

Blog after blog I went down the rabbit hole… And what I found out about running shocked me.

Not only could I strain my knees running long distances (especially when you’re overweight more than 20 lbs like I was)…

Running barely moved the needle when it came to weight loss

Check this out for example…

One slice of cheesecake equals 300 calories.

You burn around 300 calories running for 30 minutes.

That means I’d have to be drenched in sweat for HALF an hour on a treadmill just to undo ONE slice of cheesecake.

But what about milk in my latte?

Pesto on my pasta?

I wasn’t a fan of calorie counting but it helped me realize I could never lose the pounds that I wanted with running alone (or exercise for that matter.)

I knew I had to clean up my diet first. But I didn’t want to go on a “diet”

After all, I’ve tried every diet under the sun and I failed at each one because they would tell me the same thing…

  • Give up everything you love to eat
  • Cook tasteless meals
  • Push through

No thanks.

That wasn’t sustainable.

I didn’t want to get on some nonsense diet pills or detox teas, either. I knew it was a scam.

So was that it? Was I going to be stuck with this fat forever?

I ditched the whole idea of dieting and just let go of hope to get in shape.

A few days later while scrolling through cat videos on Instagram, an interesting post came up on my feed.

Beyond Body’s personalized wellness book.

An entire book with a tailored meal plan just for me?

Yeah, right.

I was skeptical but curious.

I knew a nutritionist could dial in a diet for me but that would probably run into hundreds of bucks so I was hooked that the book came at a fraction of the cost.

I was like, I’ll just ask for a refund if it didn’t pan out and got the book.

And I’m so glad I did!

Two months later it led me to one of the biggest health breakthroughs in my life and I want to share it with you.

But before I get into that, let me say this first.

Beyond Body was unlike any other diet that I’ve tried

I hand-picked each ingredient of my meal plan in a quiz where I chose foods I like and don’t like.

Every meal was tailored to my taste.

All that grit and willpower that I needed for my previous dieting attempts?

I didn’t need it with Beyond Body.

Even my allergies were taken care of. I told them I’m allergic to tree nuts so they excluded it from my recipes.

Another big thing for me was mindful eating strategies.

Every time I think about what to eat next I fight the voice in my head…

“Not so fast…What about your goals?”

Beyond Body showed me how to tame my cravings in those dangerous situations like dinner with friends or after a tough day at work when it’s so much easier to give in to some comfort foods than a healthy meal.

But even when I slipped, Beyond Body taught me how to welcome my cheat days instead of thinking I “spoiled it.”

That was a game-changer.

But the best part?

I didn’t experience a single hunger pang during my entire course

Portions were more generous than I expected and I had healthy snack options in between the meals that kept me full.

Nor did I have to give up everything I loved. I could still enjoy my two favorite foods in the world – bread and pasta.

So what happened next?

A few weeks went by and I noticed my jeans were getting loose

Did they stretch out?

I decided to do a “Jeans test.”

I walked into my favorite clothing store and took two sizes of the same pair of jeans.

One pair in my current size. And one size smaller.

In a fitting room, I had this little hack:

I would put on my current size first, so if it was loose enough I would know the smaller one would fit too. But if it wasn’t loose, I wouldn’t be discouraged.

Well… it WAS loose!

I couldn’t believe it.

Just two months in with Beyond Body, my dream came true: I slipped into a smaller pair of cute jeans I was eyeing for a while.

I was 12 pounds lighter and my belly – 2.5 inches flatter. Without running a single mile or doing a single rep

before and after

But it wasn’t just the weight loss that blew my mind.

For the longest time in my life (perhaps the first time) I felt ALIVE.

My lethargy vanished. My brain fog cleared.

I could push through 10-hour workdays (sometimes 12), get more done faster, and STILL crash a party at my friend’s house.

I could fall asleep as soon as my head touched the pillow – and stay asleep the entire night.

I felt rejuvenated.

I even started running again. Not because I needed to. But because I wanted to. I was having that much extra energy to spend.

I only wish that I found Beyond Body sooner. And if you’re like me, I urge you to try it out for yourself.
