I was in my 20s when I tried out my first diet. My entire life, I was on a rollercoaster when it came to weight.
Of course, mindful eating and exercising are healthy – but not the way I was doing it.
My relationship with food and exercise was the furthest away from healthy.
I wanted to try all the products, ready-to-go meals, full-nutrition shakes, pills, teas… Anything with a promise to regulate my weight would make me jump head-first – or rather, bellyflop.
I’d force myself to eat meals I hated, cut off carbs and sugar entirely, and exercise while everything hurt – until my body didn’t respond to the program anymore.
A few sessions missed or eating a little too much on a “cheat day” would result in a terrible mood. I would just quickly give up altogether, and the weight would return.
It’s obvious now, but little did I know all my attempts at being healthy were actually killing my metabolism.
My size was constantly fluctuating. My self-esteem was non-existent. I just kept feeling bad and afraid I was never going to be both confident and healthy.
I’m 52 years old. Now I see myself as beautiful and strong enough for any shortcomings that may come my way.
When I was 51, however, things were not so hopeful.
I had been feeling my body screaming at me for a while now. I felt breathless a lot. My joints hurt, the headaches were constant, and feeling crummy was an almost daily thing.
And trying different fad diets or “summer body challenges” every now and then just made me feel worse and fall back on overeating a few weeks after.
Things only got worse with so many influencers selling their smashing results online.
I think that, after a while, I was just tired. The little struggles people don’t notice started to pile up, and the weight fluctuation was taking a toll on me.
All I could think was, “This can’t be my life. I can’t live like this.”
It took me one more time to realize that the previous month’s progress was now extra poundage on the scales.
I had to find a long-term solution.
I knew the gym wouldn’t work for me, as the closest one to me was a 35-minute commute – a huge turn-off.
I couldn’t get a random diet online, as I’ve tried so many and knew these wouldn’t last.
Life-changing, intense workout programs with miraculous promises that would have you dedicate half of your day to exercising? Yeah, not for me, either.
All I needed was something easy to introduce to my routine. Something to push me a little harder each time.
Reading articles and forums online, opinions varied, but there was one thing most people seemed to agree on.
The only exercise that is easy to do, fits everyone, and requires no equipment is walking.
It’s convenient and great for improving energy levels, preventing diseases, helping with mental health, and regulating weight.1
With the what in the bag, I now had to pick the how.
I decided to try the program with interesting promises and faithful users.
The one app everybody was talking about was Walking.Diet.
The consensus was clear: the app was perfect for beginners of any age, busy people, and ideal for the chaotic ones that need a routine to function (much like me).
The first thing I noticed was how nice and easy it was to use the app. No annoying ads or too many clunky functions I’d never even look into. Off to a good start.
It wasn’t just a diet plan either. The workouts were amazing!
The fact that all they asked of me was a few 15min walks per week caught my attention. I was surely questioning how only 15 minutes a day would help me, but why not?
It was a great motivator.
Whenever I felt tired or wanted to postpone it, I’d tell myself: “It’s just 15 minutes! C’mon, you won’t even feel it.”
To be honest, I can be lazy sometimes. If you are even a little like me and feel like you lack the discipline to walk every day or multiple times a week… don’t fret.
My advice is just don’t strain yourself. Don’t stress over it. Power through it and do as much as possible.
This is what I did. The bare minimum is already better than doing nothing. You are slowly making yourself stronger.
In the long run (pun intended!), you can feel your body transform, and the results you are looking for will be even easier to achieve.
With this mentality, I noticed walking became part of my everyday routine.
I started adding warm-up and cool-down exercises, building up the length of the walks and, a few months later, even my speed.
The quick-and-easy 15-minute workouts may seem too good to be true, but Walking.Diet is packed with other perks to make achieving a healthy lifestyle as seamless as possible.
The reason why Walking.Diet works is that the entire process is personalized.
All I had to do was answer a few questions in a quick quiz, and these little questions created a program just for me. Everything is catered to my needs, body type, fitness level, and my preferences.
Walking.Diet’s meal plan considered every little thing about me to create healthy meals that I would actually want to eat.
They are quick to make, with ingredients that are easy to find, and include all the necessary nutrients while overflowing with my favorite flavors!
Finally, a meal plan that leaves aside worrying about insane calorie counting or eating bland boiled greens all week.
So… Do I recommend Walking.Diet?
More than any other wellness plan, for sure! And I’m one to say, as I’ve tried it all before finding my treasure trove of workouts and healthy recipes.
Following this meal plan and workout regimen helped me understand that not all carbs are bad, healthy meals can (and should) be delicious, and working out is just a matter of habit!
I learned that my best self was not my skinniest self but definitely my happiest (and healthiest!).
You don’t have to take my word for it. Why not try it yourself?

And that’s what I did. Walking just a few minutes regularly changed me for the better!
Thank you for your comment
Imagine looking that cute 😭 damn, I wish.
Now I gotta try this app to see if it actually works. I just gotta make it last and not push myself in the beginning just to lose the goal again. You slay queen.
I started Walking.Diet a little while ago, and it’s the first program I actually enjoy. The biggest issue I found with other apps online was that they were all or nothing. You either do what they tell you to and get the results asap, or you drop them. Walking.Diet helped me make exercise a routine. I do a little every day, and I’ve been feeling great tbh.
Consistency is key! I lost a few pounds during lockdown with the trackers and exercising at home with Walking.Diet. Building up from 10 mins a day to an hour 5 times a week. I’m 50 with 4 kids, and I’m fitter now than I’ve ever been!
