“How can you be so selfish!?”
My own daughter thought my lack of ability to take control of my health was selfishness.
I understand why. My blood pressure was at 201/98 and we were waiting for my lab results at the hospital.
It wasn’t selfishness.
I was just half-hearted about getting better.
I didn’t believe it was possible without medications, so I didn’t really try. Not until I found out there was a way…
But before that, I had 3 different doctors tell me it’s natural that this happens:
…You move a bit less
…Eat a bit more
…Metabolism slows down
…Pounds creep in and then…
Blood pressure shoots up.
“Why can’t you take care of yourself better?” My daughter asked.
Honestly, only then did it hit me how much I wanted to be present. To see my daughter walk the aisle, to rock my grandchild to sleep, to spoil them, to have fun together… Create memories instead of watching life pass by from the sidelines.
I knew what being 200 lbs meant for my health.
Being on the heavier side was putting stress on my joints (they were hurting more often than not), it was also very unhelpful for my blood pressure and bad for my pancreas.
I had a pushy doctor who would repeatedly inform me that “acquiring diabetes wasn’t a matter of IF but of WHEN.”
And that “hypertension and high blood glucose was a bad combination to have.”
My excess weight was causing most of my health problems now, and I had to get it fixed.
I had no idea HOW to do that (until that fateful call with my cardiologist).
I desperately wished I could just lose that excess weight that had haunted me for years and get my health back on track.
I’d been trying to lose weight for years…
But the results were always the same:
I’d lose a couple of pounds in the first few weeks, only for the weight to come right back on.
I got SO tired of losing and regaining the same few pounds.
It was like my body just wanted to keep the weight on.
If you’ve ever felt this way and you’re fed up with the constant weight loss rollercoaster…
Because I’m going to share a simple weight loss solution that has helped me drop pounds of nagging fat and live a happier, healthier, and more energetic life – WITHOUT crazy dieting, feeling hungry all the time or depriving myself of the foods I love.
And this particular weight loss method could boost your metabolism even if you are over 50, 60, or 70 AND increases fat burning at the same time!
I didn’t think it was possible, either!
Right after I had that major hypertension scare and went to the ER with a BP of 201/98, I called my cardiologist.
Besides discussing what new meds I should start taking now, I also asked for his honest advice. It was literally a cry for help.
“There is one method I advocate for. It currently is the no. 1 science-backed weight management method. I’m sure it will help you lose weight. It works. I’ve seen it with my own eyes, and I follow it myself.”
When I heard “fasting” somewhere in the conversation, I thought it was another “starvation diet” that forced you to cut out everything.
So I was really skeptical at first.
I told my daughter about it. She browsed through some forums to find more information about the method. It turns out I was living under a rock!
There is so much agreement in the medical community on the benefits of intermittent fasting – one of the main being HEALTHY weight loss.
But what really surprised me was that this intermittent fasting lifestyle (yes, it’s not even really a diet!) is not so much about WHAT you eat or eliminating certain foods but about When you eat.
You don’t have to change your whole lifestyle to make it work. It’s actually really flexible and adapts to you.
AND you can STILL enjoy all the foods you love.
Well, since I had nothing left to lose…
I was willing to at least give intermittent fasting a shot, hoping it would finally help me lose that excess weight, lower my blood pressure, and push back the risk for diabetes…
And give me back the energy to play with my grandkids!
I just wanted a pain-free, healthy, and active life.
So I took a leap of faith and signed up for an intermittent fasting program with an app to guide me through the process called DoFasting.
It wasn’t a trap. They offered a 7-day trial – I had nothing to lose!
I stuck with the intermittent fasting program for the first 3 days. I must admit – I really feared the hunger pains and discomfort.
But to my surprise, there were almost none.
And it was easier than I expected because I had everything planned out and arranged for my success:
I knew exactly when to start and end my fasts, how much water I should drink throughout the day, and they even have easy recipes with all the foods I like, so I didn’t have to think about what or how much to eat (they track everything for you!).
Yet I have to admit, I was getting anxious – it almost seemed too good to be true.
So on the 4th day in the morning, I stepped on the scale.
I couldn’t believe my eyes!
It only took less than a week to see the weight go down. It encouraged me.
If I lost pounds in the first 3 days, what results could I expect in a month? In three or six months?
So I made up my mind to stick to DoFasting. And well, after the first month, I was still dropping weight and no plateau for me!
Even better, I noticed my blood pressure slightly went down.
I felt more energetic throughout the day, and that late-night snacking habit I had struggled with before was long gone (and so were my pounds).
I started feeling like everything was in my hands again.
I turned my health around with the DoFasting app, which gave me a personalized weight loss plan based on my age, weight, health history, and favorite foods.
All I did was answer a simple, free quiz and see what I was getting myself into with a 7-day trial! (Link below).
What I received was the exact opposite of the fad diets that kept letting me down. I now get to practice intermittent fasting based on my specific needs and routine, and I get daily guidance too.
What used to frustrate me – tracking calories, counting macros, and planning meals – is all done for me.
Plus, I can choose from thousands of recipes that take no longer than 15 minutes to prepare… All of them are cherry-picked by a professional nutritionist.
I no longer have to rely on willpower or deal with constant cravings.
I know you’ve probably been burned by other weight loss programs before, but I swear this one is different.
I was this close to giving up. But fasting has seriously changed my life. I’m so grateful I gave it a try.
I now feel as though I’ve gained extra time in my life to enjoy with my family, and to play with my grandchildren!
If there was a chance to improve your health now with DoFasting, would you take that chance?
I’m enjoying life now without guilt, regrets, or embarrassment. You don’t need a will, just a willingness to try!
Thank you for your comment
I need this. How do I get the app?
I just opened the app. Excited to lose some weight!
Intermittent fasting was the only thing that helped me lower my BP. In 6 months, Dropped BP by 15 pts diastolic/systolic, bumped HDL by 20, lowered triglycerides by 120 and lowered LDL by 40. Also lost like 4 clothes sizes. My goal is to be off meds.
