Why is grandma not playing with us?
Sitting down next to the window, I watched my eight-year-old granddaughter playing hide and seek with her parents.
The happiness in her eyes and her joyful movements reminded me of the time when she was a toddler, and I would run behind her.
She would run around, and I would accompany her. Beautiful memories flashed before my eyes.
But things have changed a lot in the last seven years
I am Mary, 61 years old, and this is my story.
I was diagnosed with diabetes. The doctor told me to take care of my diet and lifestyle. It was just the initial phase, and medicines weren’t needed.
However, I took things lightly as I didn’t have any symptoms. And this was the biggest mistake of my life.
My blood sugar levels spiked to a level where they affected my nerves and joints. All this made it difficult for me to move around.
I would binge eat to get rid of the frustration as it was the only thing that made me happy.
Lack of movement and erratic eating habits led to weight gain. And the increased weight started putting more pressure on my joints.
It was a vicious cycle.
And here I was, sitting grievously next to the window, unable to move freely.
To make things worse, my granddaughter saw me sitting and asked her mother…
“Why is grandma not playing with us?”
The sadness in her eyes crushed my heart
I felt frustrated and helpless.
But I knew there had to be a way out. Being reactive and sad wouldn’t change my situation.
I remembered the doctor telling me that diet and exercise was the key to managing weight and blood sugar levels.
As exercise seemed difficult with joint pains, my diet was the only factor I could change.
Paleo, Atkins, Keto, you name the diets, and I tried them. While the initial phase of these diet plans was doable, being consistent was the problem.
For instance, going to a party or binge eating when sad. In such situations, it would be difficult to resist my favorite foods.
People around me always had to look after me and my diet. I’ve never felt this dependent.
Besides, counting calories and carbohydrate intake was a tough task.
And so I would gain weight, losing the motivation to follow the diet.
It felt like a never-ending problem
One day, I was aimlessly scrolling through Facebook when I came across a post. It was about a female of my age who managed her diabetes using a simple tool.
She had similar problems, including weight gain and joint problems. But using the tool helped her fight her condition and lose weight. And the best part…
She could do it without counting calories or carbohydrate intake.
This inspired me to finally take some action.
After trying multiple diets, I was skeptical about the results. But I had to take a shot.
I promised myself that this would be the last try.
My Journey with the plan that helped me manage diabetes complications
I really loved how personalized the plan was and not the one-size-fits-all approach I saw with other diabetes diets.
A team of professional nutritionists and experts curated a personalized meal plan. It’s based on your diabetes type, age, weight, eating preferences, and health conditions.
All I had to do was take a simple quiz and answer a few routine questions about myself.
So, I signed up for the plan.
And I am so grateful that I took this decision for my health.
In just a few months, I started to notice a major difference in my blood sugar levels, as well as my weight and health
When I first signed up for the plan, I was scared that I wouldn’t be able to avoid cravings, and I wouldn’t be able to stick with it and stay consistent.
But, to my surprise, a few months flew by without any setbacks.
The meal plan was incredibly easy to follow and stick with because all the hard work had been done for me.
And this helped me to be persistent.
Eating in restaurants or having my favorite foods was no longer a problem.
The plan offers 10,000+ custom-made recipes and daily menus. I thus got a variety of food options to select from.
Unlike other plans, it wasn’t boring or repetitive.
It also allowed me to swap ingredients to generate variations in recipes.
They even provided me with weekly grocery lists, so I didn’t have to worry about food at all.
For the first time, I had something I felt like I could actually stick with.
And this made a huge difference.
Gradually, I lost 15 pounds and felt much lighter. This had a double effect on my health.
Firstly, it made me feel lighter and allowed better joint movement.
I no longer just sit and watch my granddaughter playing. Instead, I get to be a part of those beautiful moments.
We giggle and compete with each other in various games.
It takes me back in time when I would run behind her and enjoy her childhood.
Plus, it made me feel confident and independent, which I craved.
No more guilt of being a burden or feeling that I am fragile.
Despite everything I had been through, I felt like I was in a good place. I had greater control over my diabetes than ever before.
I felt free.
I wish I had known about this plan earlier. I wouldn’t have lost those years confined to a place, just being sad.
But I am proud of what I am now.
I have made mistakes and make sure not to repeat them.
And thus, I want to pass on my experience to others.
For anyone restricted in any way because of diabetes and not able to lose weight, don’t give up.
I can now play with my granddaughter and take care of myself. This means the world to me.
Besides, you have an added advantage…You’re one step ahead of me.
Own up and take responsibility for your health. The Klinio plan has helped thousands of people like me, and it can help you too.
Just like me, it can help you become a better version of yourself, no matter how long you’ve had diabetes
