How an Awkward Public Incident Led Me to Dissolve My Belly Fat and Eliminate Food Cravings for Good, After 6 Years of Diet Roller Coaster

This is the loud, crisp sound I heard behind my back as I was crossing the street. One second later, people behind me were bursting into laughter. And it didn’t take me long to realize that they were all laughing at me… 

I had a massive hole at the back of my pants, the flesh of my right leg was exposed, and every stranger in the street could see my thigh fat…

I had gained so much weight over the past 6 years that the fabric of my pants ripped under the pressure of my legs.

I walked as fast as I could to the car with my husband, who seemed almost as embarrassed as me. Every single step with my thigh fat exposed to everyone felt like public humiliation. I’d never felt so embarrassed in my life. I still remember the smirking faces of the people passing nearby…

I knew I had to do something about my weight. In fact, I’d been desperately trying to lose the excess 37 pounds that I gained after the birth of my son Thomas. But I never managed to get rid of that stubborn belly, waist, and leg fat, despite trying literally EVERYTHING. 

Hi, my name is Laura Bennet, and in today’s article, I’m going to share with you how this humiliating public incident led me to discover a solution to finally dissolve all the excess fat on my belly, thighs, and waist after 6 years of never-ending diet roller coaster.

Today, I want to share with you this unexpected discovery that allowed me to shed 36 pounds without creating irresistible cravings or working out like crazy. I’m not a woman who can naturally lose weight easily. My mother and her mother were both overweight their whole lives. 

So if this simple solution worked for me, maybe it can help other women get their ideal body as well.

I think about this all the time… and it never ceases to frustrate me. It just feels SO unfair to me that some women can eat Krispy Kreme doughnuts, BBQ chicken wings, or large crusty pizzas without gaining a single gram!

In fact, last year, I was invited to a lunch party at the country house of my husband’s colleague and long-time friend Dan. He has a nice ranch where everybody can just relax, have some fun, and enjoy good food, fresh beer, and music. 

And this time, Dan really outdid himself by organizing a MASSIVE buffet: mountains of slow-braised pork ribs, sausage rolls, butterfly cakes, Texas-style barbecued chicken, handmade hamburgers, bagels and doughnuts, pizzas and fries for children (and adults like me…), and dozens of fresh, finger-licking pastries. The lifetime food lover inside me was screaming for help. I already knew I would never be able to resist…

And then, there is Karen, Dan’s wife, a very attractive 47-year-old woman. Not “model-like” attractive. But she had that kind of killer, hourglass-shaped body with tight skin that drives all men crazy. At 47, she basically had the body of a 22-year-old cheerleader, with only a few fine lines on her face. In fact, I tried to avoid taking pictures with her because she made me look like the “ugly fat friend” everyone feels sorry for…

But it’s not even the craziest part… You might think that with a body like that, she must have a super strict diet coupled with 4–5 intense weekly cardio sessions. Well, think twice! 

I don’t even know how this is possible… but Karen just happens to be “one of these women” who literally eats like two people, devouring greasy BBQ wings, large crusty pizzas, and Ben & Jerry’s cookie dough ice creams every week – without taking a single gram of fat. As if calories simply had no effect on her! 

For me, on the other hand, it was a completely different story… Over the past 6 years, I literally tried everything under the sun to get rid of my belly, waist, and thigh fat, making me incredibly self-conscious about my body. I’ve tried keto, Weight Watchers, Atkins, low-carb, Dukan, vegan, paleo – you name it… I even bought a $1.5k Peloton bike in an attempt to burn my stubborn fat faster…

But every time I tried a new diet, it was always the same story.

I would read about a new popular way of losing weight online…

Try it for a few months while making sure to follow all the instructions to the letter…

Lose a few pounds in the first weeks… and then REGAIN all the weight I lost in a heartbeat by succumbing to uncontrollable food cravings.

So when I saw Karen devouring crusty Margaritas as if she was immune to calories, I just wished I could switch bodies with her. I was tired of seeing and touching my own pockets of fat every day in the mirror, but NOTHING was working to get rid of this excess fat.

While everybody was laughing, drinking, and enjoying their meal at the party, I felt really bad in my own skin and self-conscious about my weight.

Little did I know what was coming for me the next day…

How my inability to lose weight led me to live one of the most embarrassing moments in my life

The next day, I went shopping with my husband. We wanted to take advantage of the Holiday season to find some good quality clothes at attractive discounts. It was a very bright, sunny day, so the mall was crawling with people. 

I love shopping, and I rarely do it with my husband because he quickly gets bored. So this day was an occasion for me to feel better and happier after the brief episode of weight-related depression I had last night at the ranch. 

Unfortunately for me, this day, which was supposed to be relaxing, didn’t go exactly as planned…

As I was crossing the street to look at the display window of a shoe store that caught my eye, I heard a loud, crisp sound right behind my back:

“KRRRRRRRRRRRRR”

One second later, people were laughing behind me. My pants were ripped all the way down to my ankles, my entire right leg was naked, and my thigh fat was floating in the air, visible to every stranger on the street…

It was one of the main commercial streets of the city, so at least hundreds of people saw my ripped pants, which literally exploded under the pressure of my leg. And the more people noticed, the louder the laughs, which brought even more attention to me, and even more laughs. I’d never felt so embarrassed in my life. 

“Let’s get to the car to change clothes,” said my husband, in a quiet voice to try to calm me down. The car was about ten minutes away by foot, and every single step with my thigh fat exposed to everyone felt like public humiliation. 

After ten minutes of absolute hell, I didn’t want to go shopping anymore. I slumped into the car, feeling completely defeated and humiliated, and told my husband that I just wanted to go home. We got back home, and I spent the whole evening crying and feeling miserable about my body. 

My confidence was at an all-time low, and my self-esteem was gone. I didn’t want to put one single foot outside the house after this public incident.

I felt like the whole world was acting against me. And that’s when…

I decided to go on a quest to find a definitive solution to burn all my excess fat once and for all…

This incident hit me really hard. I could still hear the laughs of strangers in the street resonating in my head like a nightmare on replay. I couldn’t even go to the grocery store without feeling extremely paranoid and self-conscious about my body. 

At my age, I still had decades of life in front of me, and I wanted to enjoy life to the fullest, without this permanent frustration that was holding me back. So I swore to myself I would do everything in my power to finally drop the pounds for good. 

I spent weeks looking online for new weight loss solutions that would work, even for desperate cases like me. I read hundreds of articles, watched dozens of weight loss videos on YouTube, even sent long emails to doctors and professional nutritionists to ask for advice… 

But no matter where I looked, I couldn’t find any diet or weight loss strategy that I hadn’t already tried over the past 6 years

So I thought:

“Maybe that’s just the way I am.”

  1. I was a bit skeptical at first given how many times I failed to lose weight using new diets… but having tried intermittent fasting for over three months, I must say this is legit! It took me about a week to get used to the diet. But after that, I noticed visible weight loss, which I haven’t regained since. I went from 174 lbs to 153 lbs, and I continue to see my body getting slimmer over time, without feeling hungrier than usual. I don’t see myself returning to a regular diet now.
